In conversation with Clement Cheng, ERA Branch Division Director, MNC Ex-HR Manager, on his prestigious breakthrough award,
Here’s what he has to say,
What are some of your motivations that drive you to achieve this ERA Diamond award?
[Clement Cheng]: My motivation was to start 2021 with a bang and to give myself the momentum to strive on for the rest of the year. And what better way than to hit $100k within the first month of the year. Money aside, the main motivation is certainly for my family. To be able to provide for them financially, and to have the flexibility of time to spend with them whenever I wish, is the main reason why this is such a great career.
What does it take to achieve this award and what it means to you?
[Clement Cheng]: Commitment and Discipline! Commitment to achieving my targets and goals I have set up for myself, but most importantly also the promise to be committed to my clients in terms of providing them with the best service possible. Without my clients, I won’t be where I am now. And to do so, the discipline to stay focus is crucial. Being self-employed, we have to stay driven and self-motivated to see the fruits of our labor. Achieving this award means a lot to me personally as it is a result of my hard work and determination to succeed. The sense of achievement and happiness is second to none.
Where were your closings? What were the challenges faced and how did you overcome them?
[Clement Cheng]: My closings came from 1 new launch, 4 resale, and 2 rentals. Managing timelines, concurrent buying & selling, was a challenge as I had to ensure that my client had sufficient time to sell their place, find their next dream home, and eventually, move in after renovations without having to separately rent a place in between. The timing had to be perfect to reduce the inconvenience of moving twice. To overcome this challenge, it was important to understand my client’s needs and situation. It is only through listening and understanding, that we can successfully deliver our promises to them.
How does ERA, Preeminent Group, and ALD make a difference?
[Clement Cheng]: ERA has given me a very strong platform that I can leverage on. I can fully concentrate on my sales and team building, without having to worry about the logistics such as finance, HR, training, etc which the company fully provides. Technology and apps such as ERA Pro and iERA make work so much easier for us, and having everything on our fingertips helps a great deal!
The support and training I receive from Preeminent Group, which is also the biggest and most successful Group in ERA, has made me who I am today. Without the wealth of knowledge shared within the Group, I wouldn’t have had the confidence to go out to speak to clients. Most importantly, the Mission, Values, and common goals of the Group spurs me on to better myself every day.
I have made many great friends and colleagues in ALD, and this is another very crucial aspect of my success in Real Estate thus far. On top of all the wonderful team training by Alex which focuses on the different aspects of Real Estate, I think that it’s the People aspect that keeps the team so strong. The teamwork and support we have for each other, the selfless sharing of knowledge, and bonding are what keeps us going knowing that we’ll never be alone in this business.
Is there anyone whom you wish to show your appreciation to?
[Clement Cheng]: To my bosses Alex & Jane, Thank you for being ever-present and supportive since the start of my career. Your patience and mentorship have made me who I am today. Thank you for opening up the world of Real Estate to me!!
To my clients, I am so thankful for your trust and will continue to stay by my belief to serve you to my best ability. It is amazing to continuously receive words of gratitude as well as referrals, and your trust and belief in me keep my passion going strong!!
To my family, Thank you for your unwavering support and belief even when the road didn’t seem the smoothest at the beginning. Thank you for not giving up on me and for being the source of my determination to succeed in this career. Thank you for the understanding and for being in my future, for it is the future we are all working for and I will continue to strive to the best of my ability.
Do you have any tips or advice to inspire fellow realtors?
[Clement Cheng]: Trust yourself, never give up and remember the people around you who need you.
Have a clear goal, set your mind to it, believe it will happen, and do all you can to make it happen. Remember, everything happens for a reason, be it good or bad. Learn from your experiences, improve yourself constantly and go out there to share with your heart. When you do your best for others, you’ll in turn be blessed with more than you expect.
