What are some of your motivations that drive you to achieve this ERA Diamond award?
[Shirley Tan]: My daughter was inspired me to achieve this milestone. She has been asking me when will I get a Centurion cup back? Without hesitation, I told her soon. As a mum, I always believe I have to live up to my words and lead by example. Also, I have been telling my children, whatever your mind conceives you can achieve. Am grateful I didn’t have to let my children wait too long to show them the cup. Another reason is to motivate and inspire my team.
What does it take to achieve this award and what it means to you?
[Shirley Tan]: Lots of planning, strategizing, and focus. ‘What gets measured; gets the result.’ I was blessed with many clients going the extra mile to refer their friends and family members to me. In appreciation of their referrals, I have to ensure I provide the right advice and source the right home for them.
Where were your closings? What were the challenges faced and how did you overcome them?
[Shirley Tan]: I closed a mixture of deals from 5 projects, 1 Private resale, 1 HDB, and a rental. Each case poise different challenges. I have to think through deeply and discuss strategies closely with them find the best approach which they are comfortable with. A lot of calls to my mentor, Alex Lim, and my other division mates and ERA Marketing team to find out alternative solutions to assist my buyers to fulfill to achieve their dream plan. Greatly appreciative to all ERA project division directors and marketing team for all your help!
How does ERA, Preeminent Group, and ALD make a difference?
[Shirley Tan]: Yes definitely. Strong ERA i-ERA platform, Marketing team and the support from ALD make a lot of difference. Without their sharings and tips, i may not be able to help my buyers get their dream units at the recent new project launches.
Is there anyone whom you wish to show your appreciation to?
[Shirley Tan]: To friends and relatives for their trust and support. To my family especially my husband for always being readily available to help me whenever I needed his help. To my daughter for always encouraging me and believe that I can achieve to the next level. Thank you, my mentor, Alex Lim for always a phone call away. Super gratefully to all the ERA Marketing staff for always going the extra mile to help me.
Do you have any tips or advice to inspire fellow realtors?
[Shirley Tan]: Set strong goals, keep daily focus, plan ahead and work closely with your mentor. Always share the issues that you are facing with your mentor so that you can find the right solutions. You must have a desire to succeed and achieve your goal and definitely. If you can dream it, you can achieve!
